Tímea Schneider
Ritual Dance and Group Facilitator with an Integrative Approach
My name is Tímea Schneider, and I am a group leader specializing in Ritual Dance and an integrated approach.
Movement and dance have been a part of my life since childhood. In my early twenties, as an economist and entrepreneur, I led a highly performance-oriented life where almost everything had a goal, a result, and an expectation. Over time, I became increasingly disconnected from my body and my own feelings, which manifested in my life even on the level of physical illness.
A few years ago, I encountered body-oriented self-awareness methods and dance as a therapeutic tool. These processes fundamentally transformed my connection to myself and my body and helped me finally find my way home within myself.
Ritual Dance is a guided movement meditation where, through free movement, music, and various archetypes, I invite you to come closer to yourself. We are not moving toward a specific goal, but rather creating space for whatever is present within you at that moment. This could be unbridled joy, playfulness, strength, or even the experience and release of difficult emotions.
Sometimes what you really need is to get out of your head and into your bodyand dance is a wonderful tool for this. You dont always have to think, analyze, or unravel new wounds. You dont always have to know exactly whats happening inside you or whats being cleared from your system as you move. Your body knows. Your nervous system knows. And sometimes thats enough. Its that one step right here, right now.
I come from a place where Ive even turned self-awareness into a performance. Ive got hundreds of hours of individual therapy, bodywork, retreats, group sessions, and dance behind me, and Ive always found something else I could work on. Theres always another layer. At one point, however, I realized that what my body needs most is not for me to try to fix or process something at all costs, but simply to move in whatever way feels right.
I want to create space for this in our group dances: to let things be as they are, without immediately wanting to change them.
Each session has a different theme, but theres one common question in all of them: how are you feeling in your body right now, and what does it want to show you? I look forward to welcoming you to my sessions at the Everness Festival so you can finally get out of your head!
