Karma Pema Dorje (Gábor Ölvedi) is a singer, throat singer, percussionist, and multi-instrumentalist.
Within his solo mantra music project, his intention is to express through music the infinite, open spaces and inner journeys experienced in meditation, and to share these with anyone who wishes to open to and gain insight into their inner world. He enjoys maintaining a balance between traditional instrumental and vocal techniques and sacred texts, while integrating innovative ideas. At the same time, he consciously incorporates the tools, instruments, and perspectives of the modern worldallowing space for artistic freedom and imagination, while honoring the cornerstones of tradition.
His 108-minute mantra concerts present Buddhist mantras like radiant jewels, set within a wide variety of musical settings.
Often as many as ten instruments are played during a single concert, ranging from the most ancient percussion and wind instruments to modern instruments such as the handpan. Through sacred vocal techniques that are hundreds or even thousands of years old, the mantras resonate and find their way into the hearts of many.
